J. Cortes is a highly credentialed firearms and tactical instructor with extensive experience in law enforcement and military training. His certifications include:

• Pennsylvania State Police Lethal Force Instructor
• NRA Law Enforcement Pistol & Shotgun Instructor
• Texas A&M University Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) Instructor
• Law Enforcement De-escalation Tactics Instructor
• Numerous advanced certifications in military and law enforcement disciplines

Beyond his tactical expertise, Cortes holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and has an impressive background in the entertainment industry. He has appeared in six films, worked as a fight scene coordinator, and has four TV show scripts registered with the Writers Guild of America East.

Additionally, he is a published author of three books and the founder & chairman of Let’s Fly Green (www.letsflygreen.com), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting private aircraft owners in sustainable aviation initiatives. Hello Julio

Just wanted to take a moment and tell you that Angie and I enjoyed taking your Basic Pistol Course today. You have a tremendous knowledge and enthusiasm for the topic and it shows well. We enjoyed learning something new from the class.

Angie and I both commented how easy to shoot the pistol was you had us use. What was that pistol make if you don’t mind my asking?
 

I really enjoyed the class yesterday and would love to take the more advanced class once I chose a gun that is comfortable for me to handle.

I had a great time and learned a lot – even though I ​didn’t demonstrate it at the range. Loved the repetition of your five rules. You did a great job and made my first ever foray with a handgun really interesting. I doubt if I will buy a gun or need a concealed weapons’ permit, but one never knows. I will definitely recommend your course. We have show and tell at the beginning of the school year (I teach high school) so I will definitely talk up your services.  So, your obvious prioritizing of safety resonated.​​

I hope that your drive home was uneventful. I had to change my route because of road closures!​​
